A leader in IT Asset Value Recovery seeks to find a multi-capability partner in North America to whom we can outsource specific asset warehousing, remarketing and recycling responsibilities. Experience of handling and processing notebooks, desktop systems, LCD monitors and printers is required. The ideal provider would have the capability to Process and Post this inventory of "mixed assets" on all auction and e-tailer websites. The equipment includes small quantities of different computer and related IT hardware brands and models, parts, units that may have cosmetic scratches and dents or items that may have less value. Desired Experience & Qualifications Include: ebay & Online Auction Posting: The proven track record in moving a range of retired IT assets through ebay and/or other auction and tech equipment remarketing sites. Low-cost Labor Pool: We will have a large volume of product that requires warehouse, shipping, receiving and inventory tracking personnel. Warehouse Space: Trailer-loads will arrive with regularity. An extensive amount of space would be required. Product ID System: Ability to receive, log in and track equipment through the process Security: A physically secure environment including cameras, restricted access areas and security patrols. Data Safe Area: A separate, secure area in which only trained personnel, authorized to handle data sanitization and/or hard drive removal and destruction are permitted. Recycling Capabilities: The capability to manage the breakdown, recycling and proper disposal of IT equipment. This function could be handled by your licensed, third party subcontractor whose operations can audited. A leading telecommunications company is examining the integration of forward and reverse logistics operations in the US into a single warehouse. All forward logistics operations is either new or restocked equipment sourced using the company's inventory management system, excluding the RMA processes (repair & return) currently outsourced. The assets are used and/or excess telecom equipment of which the 3PL or 3PSP will be required to receive, identify parts (electronic cards, power supplies, modems, cabinets, frames and routers) and determine final disposition. The anticipated volume within a year is approximately 50,000 pieces. Disposition Type - Reuse / Redeployment (determine what parts have reuse opportunity based upon a set of inventory rules) - Sale (Consignment or Direct Sale) - Scrap *IMPORTANT: Respondents are asked to recommend a solution that would best achieve the characteristics and uniqueness of the two distinct logistical functions (forward and reverse) and acknowledge advantages and disadvantages of such a strategy.* It is not the intent of the member company to separate the functions between two companies. Major HDD and data storage manufacturer is working to increase sales in Canada and requires reverse logistics services on a limited scope for Canadian customers. The problem: We distribue a comparatively low volume of high dollar value product to end users and distribiutors in the Canadian market. Current reverse logistics services are provided from the US. Unacceptable delays in customer service are being experienced. The Solution: Your services within Canada to receive returned product from our Canadian customers and redistribute new/refurbished product within an acceptable time frame. Times will vary by product but are between 24 and 72 hours of receipt of ship request. Immediate need is for 3 product lines, about 12-15 part numbers. Your inventory will be replenished from our US operations. Opportunity: Upon demonstrated proficiency and partnership, there is an opportunity for the successful candidate to provide services for our other products for which we are currently using an alternate solution.
